
Sara Fruchter, PhD

Dr. Sara Fruchter is a staff psychologist at Gordon Therapy Group. She specializes in treating anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, and eating disorders across the lifespan, and especially enjoys working with children, adolescents, and their families. Dr. Fruchter is also interested in the intersection of social media and mental health, particularly its impact on body image and self-esteem, which she explored in her doctoral research.
Dr. Fruchter earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She completed her APA-accredited internship at the Center for Anxiety in Great Neck, NY, where she received training in evidence-based interventions for anxiety, mood, personality, and obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorders. She went on to complete a postdoctoral fellowship in the Eating Disorders Department at NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester Behavioral Health Center, where she gained specialization in treating eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID).
Dr. Fruchter uses a collaborative, structured, and compassionate approach grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She is committed to creating a nonjudgmental therapeutic space where clients feel empowered to make meaningful change.
