Who Telehealth Helps
Telehealth frees you from subway delays, childcare struggles, and long commutes, so you can focus on making a change. It helps busy professionals who need predictable sessions, parents who want to join briefly for coaching, and teens who feel more open in a familiar space.
It also supports clients with mobility or access barriers who might otherwise postpone care.
Telehealth or In-Person?
You can opt for both Telehealth and in-person therapy. Online care is highly recommended when logistics or consistency are the main barriers to therapy.
Office visits are helpful when in-room therapy sessions are required, and are best for children. . Many clients opt for a hybrid plan to accommodate life’s changes without losing momentum.
Tech and Privacy for Telehealth
When preparing for a telehealth session, set up a quiet space, use headphones, and ensure a stable connection. We’ll send a private, encrypted link, review the consent forms, and conduct a quick technical check before your first session. We also keep a backup phone number on file in case your connection drops.
Conditions We Treat via Telehealth
Telehealth treatment for adults does not differ significantly from in-person, so it is really a matter of preference. Some people like the feel of being in the room with the therapist, others feel comfortable online and/or can’t fit the commute into their schedule. The one really significant difference is that children should be seen in person for best outcomes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is telehealth as effective as in-person for CBT?
For many concerns—anxiety, OCD (with ERP), depression, stress, and habits—outcomes are comparable when sessions are regular, and skills are practiced between visits.
Can we switch between online and office sessions?
Yes. A hybrid plan is common. We’ll use online sessions for consistency and schedule in-office time when a specific exposure or testing step is needed.
How do you run exposures over video?
We plan steps that fit your space—whether it’s your home, dorm, or workplace—and guide you in real-time. When an in-office session is necessary, we’ll schedule it in advance.
Do you offer telehealth services for children and teens?
If a teen is able to focus and engage on telehealth, we can see them virtually. With kids under 12 we really prefer to see folks in-person, though we’ll make exceptions as needed to improve access to care. Parent sessions, however, are frequently provided via telehealth
What platform do you use, and is it a secure one?
We use Google Meet. You’ll receive a private link and simple instructions before the first appointment.
Do you serve clients outside New York?
Yes. We offer services in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
