Dana Jean-Louis, PsyD

Staff Psychologist: Early childhood specialist

Dr. Jean-Louis (or Dr. Dana to kids) is a full time staff psychologist at the Gordon Therapy Group. She has a passion for working with children, teens, and emerging adults, and extensive training in cognitive behavioral therapy. She received her doctorate in clinical child psychology from the University of Hartford where she created a multi-family manualized treatment for children with pediatric cancer. She also holds a Masters in psychology from Long Island University where she completed her thesis on the impact of separation anxiety on school performance in preschool-aged children, and holds a BA in psychology and sociology from Rutgers University. She completed her post-doctoral training at the Gordon Therapy Group.

Prior to joining the Gordon Therapy Group, Dr. Jean-Louis trained at The Village for Families and Children in Hartford, CT, Maimonides Medical Center, Connecticut College’s Student Counseling Center, and the Family Medicine Center’s integrative primary care clinic. Throughout these training sites, Dr. Jean-Louis gained experience in providing evidence-based care to individuals across the lifespan.

Dr. Jean-Louis has a passion for studying and treating the impact of medical-related concerns on mental health, including athlete injury and rehabilitation, pain management, and disease management. She is also particularly expert in working with young children with anxiety, finding creative ways to help them understand and manage fear and OCD.
